Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.1% in March 28–Monday
MOSCOW, Apr 5 (PRIME) -- Russian consumer prices increased 0.1% in the week from March 28 until Monday after two weeks of unchanged dynamics, and inflation reached 1% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
In the reported week, prices for beef, frozen fish and butter grew by 0.2. Buckwheat prices fell 1.2%, poultry and sugar prices decreased by 0.4%, and prices for sunflower oil and spaghetti went down 0.3%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables rose 0.7% on average. Potato prices increased 3.5%, onion prices rose 3.2%, tomato and carrot prices grew 1.1%. Prices for cucumbers fell 0.6% and cabbage prices decreased 0.4%.
Gasoline prices rose 0.2%, while diesel fuel prices decreased 0.1%.
The service also said that inflation slowed down to 0.1% in March from 0.2% in February, and in annual terms it also contracted to 4.3% from 4.6%. Prices for foods increased 0.1% on the month in March, and prices for non-food goods increased 0.2%. Prices for services remained flat in the month.
